Nexium Control 20mg Gastro-Resistant Tablets treats heartburn and acid reflux. They are suitable for short-term treatment of reflux symptoms (heartburn, acid regurgitation) in adults, aged 18 or over.
Caution: Do not use if you are allergic to esomeprazole or any of the ingredients of this medicine.

Each gastro-resistant tablet contains 20 mg esomeprazole (as magnesium trihydrate). Contains sucrose.

The stomach produces about 60 mg of acid in a day, which keeps the production of stomach acid at risk of kidney damage. Therefore, if you have heartburn or acidus, avoid taking Nexium before the onset of symptoms.
Avoid taking Nexium if you are also takingl luminex (lansoprazole) or ranitidine if you are taking antacids for heartburn or acid reflux.
Keep taking this medicine even if you feel well, because about 70% of patients with reflux symptoms develop acid-related side effects.
Tell your doctor immediately if you experience any signs of kidney problems, such as a change in the amount of urine passed or a build up of high levels of alkaline phosphatase.
This medicine may cause you to feel drowsy, have dizziness, a fast heartbeat, or have a rash, itching, or weakness.
Other symptoms of kidney problems include swollen legs, ankles, and/or shortness of breath. Do not drive, use machinery or do other activity that requires drowsiness. Do not take this medicine if you have had a heart attack, or have a kidney, liver or heart failure.
Caution When Taking This Medicine
May increase the risk of breast cancer. Discuss your risk with your doctor.
May cause stomach ulcers. Ask your doctor about other treatment options.
May cause severe allergic reactions (difficulty breathing, hives, swelling of the mouth, face, or tongue).
Other serious side effects include swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, severe stomach or duodenal pain, changes in the menstrual cycle, problems with your heart, blood pressure, or changes in the amount of urine.
May cause serious allergic reactions (signs of a severe reaction: a change in the skin, the whites of the eyes, the cheeks, the right upper stomach, a rash, a severe allergic rash thatching, a rapid heartbeat, or changes in the amount of urine).
Other serious side effects include a yellowing of the skin or eyes of the mouth or other symptoms of liver disease (jaundice).
Tell your doctor immediately if you experience a red itchy rash, severe abdominal or stomach pain, fever, including a rise in the level of the body's fat in the stool, changes in your menstrual cycle, problems with your heart, or if you develop symptoms of lupus (shingles).
